How PETHEALTH+ makes money
PETHEALTH+ is free to read. Running it costs money — hosting, reviewing guides against UK veterinary guidance, and building the directory and tools. This page lists every way the site earns, or may in future earn, money — and the rules that keep commercial relationships out of our editorial judgement.

Enhanced & featured vet listings
Appearing in our Find a Vet directory is free. Where a listing carries an “Enhanced” or “Featured” badge, the practice pays for that extra visibility — and the badge on the listing says so.
Payment affects visibility only, never editorial content. It cannot change what our health guides say, it cannot buy a mention inside a guide, and it cannot remove or soften a factual detail anywhere on the site.
Sponsored placements
From time to time, a fixed slot on a page may be sold to a relevant UK business. A sponsored placement is always labelled “Sponsored” at the top of the slot, sits outside the editorial flow of the page, and is sold at a fixed price — never per click and never per sale.
Sponsors do not see, approve or influence the editorial content around their slot.
Partner links marked *
Where a link is marked *, it is a partner link: if you click it and complete an action, we may receive commission at no extra cost to you. Links without a * earn us nothing. Commission never affects our editorial rankings or vet listings.
Partner links leave PETHEALTH+ through a short disclosure page that tells you where you are going — and whether we earn anything — before you continue. Where a link is a partner link, the outbound link also carries rel="sponsored" so search engines treat it as paid.
What money never buys
Some things are not for sale at any price:
- A ranking in a health guide. No payment changes what we say about a condition, a treatment, a product or a provider.
- A review score. When reviews launch, every score will come from the same published criteria, whether or not a commercial relationship exists.
- The removal of a correction. If we get something wrong, we fix it and the correction stays visible — nobody can pay to have a mistake quietly deleted.
- An editorial mention. Companies cannot pay to be named inside a health guide.
Editorial zones
All 244 of our health guides are an editorial zone: they carry no partner links, no sponsored slots and no paid mentions. There is exactly one exception — the pet insurance guide ends with a single, clearly labelled partner section so owners who decide to compare policies can do so, with the disclosure sitting next to every link.
Every other guide, tool and A–Z topic on the site works the same way: editorial first, with any commercial element labelled and kept at arm's length from the advice itself.

PETHEALTH+ is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not provide financial advice. We do not recommend any particular insurer or policy.
Where we link to a pet insurance provider, the link is a mere introduction to an FCA-authorised firm. Cover, exclusions and prices are set by the provider — always check the provider's own terms and policy documents before you buy, and speak to an FCA-authorised adviser if you need a personal recommendation.

Where we link to Amazon, the link goes straight to Amazon — Amazon does not allow Associates links to pass through a redirect, so they never use our /out disclosure page. The price you pay is the same either way.
Where the money goes — our rescue pledge
10% of PETHEALTH+'s commercial net profits fund the World Animal Rescue Network (WARN) — a registered not-for-profit (Community Interest Company) funding partner-led animal rescue across 17 countries.
The pledge applies to every revenue stream on this page: enhanced and featured listings, sponsored placements and partner-link commission. It never changes what we publish — and it is why we are comfortable being transparent about how the site earns.
